 Lights Out 2020 - Acrylic 5’ x 4’

In 2019, I unexpectedly had pacemaker implant surgery. Whilst in recovery, I realized how disconnected I had become from my core. This led me to pursue my current interest in the divine feminine, as I study how I can connect ancient ideals of women to the shape of women’s narratives in the modern world. I want to mature my work to give voice to women’s mid-life, because we are so often dismissed, overlooked or we forget ourselves. I use highly saturated colors and molding paste to create texture on the canvas as lumps and scratches as I delve into abstract symbolism.
